Personal injury claim? From a car accident, why do solicitors need national insurance no?

And what do they see when you sign to let them see your medical records? Will they see my name change?

    HELLO

AT A GUESS THEY WANT TO CLAIM LOSS OF EARNINGS DUE TO INJURY. NO JOB NO NI NUMBER.
THE MEDICAL RECORDS WILL BE SO THEY GET A DOCTORS REPORT ON YOUR INJURIES AND WILL ASK IN THE NAME YOU GAVE THEM BUT WILL THE DOCTOR KNOW WHO THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT? WHEN ALL COMPLETED YOU SHOULD GET A CHEQUE IN THE NAME YOU GAVE THEM

Solicitors will probably write to HMRC (they will ask you to sign an authority) to get back year employment records for you with regard to all your employments, pay and tax. HMRC won’t divulge this without your written authority, and a name change wouldn’t come into it. I quite often used to deal with letters like that. HMRC can only go back six years, although I had requests to go back perhaps 20 years.
Would assume medical records required would be what your GP holds. Don’t know what information they give.

I think what you are asking is why do lawyers need your health insurance number. It is so they can get your medical records as EVIDENCE in your car accident claim. The job of the attorney is to prove to the insurance company just how injured you were. The medical records from your doctor after the accident is the best evidence there is for a personal injury claim.
